Seeing is Believing
Our K-12 colleagues are adept at using visuals as teaching tools. They know students can learn a great deal from photos, paintings, artifacts, videos, and film. In this month's Thriving in Academe, Chuck Boone makes a forceful case for making better use of visuals in the college classroom.

CFA: 'Faculty Working Conditions are Student Learning Conditions.'
Bernard W. Banks, a professor of mathematics at California State Polytechnic University Pomona, takes part in the California Faculty Association's fall teach-in. More than 15,000 faculty, staff, students and community members turned out for CFA's Teach CSU events, designed to increase support for higher education.
