Thriving in Academe graphicLearning Problems

Problem-based learning, or PBL, is a relatively new teaching method in which students, usually working in groups, attempt to solve real-world problems. The professor acts as a facilitator, a tutor, a resource, but is not the source of the course’s content—the students are, through their own research and analysis. The aim: fostering independence and critical thinking.
