LET Success Stories: Students as Masters

  • In February 2002, students accompanied Romero to present “The Power of Belief” at the 2002 National Education Association (NEA) Higher Education Conference held in Austin, Texas. Students prepared and coordinated an electronic presentation about the program. They also established the itinerary, determined weather conditions and clothing requirements, and engaged in fundraisers to help cover the costs.Article graphic
  • In March 2002 KVCR, Channel 24, a local Riverside, California, television station, featured the LET program. Titled “The Passion for Teaching,” the feature captures students in action while conducting meetings as well as personal stories of successful students.
  • LET is chartering a student-organized chapter of the California Teachers Association as a component of LET. Student California Teachers Association (SCTA) consists of college students pursuing careers as educators. This organization will provide LET students with opportunities to address the broader aspects of education, such as education reform efforts, technological advances, governmental policies and issues, social issues, and philosophical controversies. This innovative component of the program has attracted more students from different fields but all with the same goal of accomplishing their educations successfully.
  • LET students raised funds to build a home for a homeless family in Mexico. The objective was to raise $4,000. LET students will donate one week of their time to build the home.
