Recent studies show that women in the academy continue to feel that they must be "perfect" in order to succeed. To counter this destructive tendency, the author of this issue's Thriving in Academe points out that mentoring female students is an increasingly important responsibility of academic women and provides some advice on being supportive.

Campus Equity Week Supporters Turn Out in Force in MichiganEducation Support Professionals from St, Clair County Community College show off their Campus Equity Week t-shirts as part of a Michigan Education Associations effort to highlight the need to improve working conditions for contingent workers on the state's campuses.  The effort was part of dozens of CEW week activities that took place nationwide October 31 to November 5.
