Thriving in Academe graphic Global Connections

Today’s professor has grown accustomed to diversity in the classroom. Approaches to teaching for most of us continue to change with the times. This issue’s Thriving in Academe presents one more challenge for faculty to tackle: international students. These learners from beyond our borders require instructors to once again adjust their teaching style in order to ensure academic success for all students.

Hartnell College Faculty and Their Supporters Hit the Bricks in Salinas
About 150 full- and part-time instructors represented by the Hartnell College Faculty Association struck the college for four days in October after waiting three years for a contract.  Supporters from the California Teachers Association, the California Faculty Association, and sister California Community College Association locals, as well as students and members of the community, joined them on the picket line.
