…About new research from the American Association of University Women Educational Foundation which shows that women’s salaries still lag behind men’s, even though women now make up the majority of college students. Their GPA’s also are on average higher than men's across all majors—including in mathematics and the sciences—and they are more likely to complete graduate education within the first 10 years out of college.
One year after graduation, women earn 80 percent of what their male counterparts earn, the report says. Ten years after graduation, women are earning 69 percent of what men earn.

…About community college presidents’ salaries reaching an average of $161,380, up 6 percent from last year, according to a survey by the American Association of Community Colleges. Male college presidents made $164,759 on average, while female leaders made $160,137.
By comparison, the average salary for full professors at community colleges is $68,289.
…About the election this year of nine women to membership in The National Academy of Sciences, the smallest number inducted since 2001, and only half the record 19 elected in 2005.
