Southern Illinois University Grad Assistants Sign Off on First Contract.
Southern Illinois University Graduate Assistants (IEA/NEA) United President Ron Fields (right) and university chancellor Fernando Trevino sign GA United's first-ever contract with the university at a January ceremony in Carbondale, Illinois. There are more than 1,600 graduate assistants on the SIUC campus, which is the fourth Illinois university campus to have organized graduate assistants and just the 28th in the nation.
