They're talking on campus...

. . . about teaching assistants in the University of California System who have agreed to a temporary cease-fire in their push for collective-bargaining rights.

After a week on strike, the TA's went back to work for a 45-day "cooling off" period proposed by the speaker of the California State Assembly.

. . . about a decline in graduate school enrollment for the second year in a row, according to statistics from the Council of Graduate Schools.

A strong job market for new B.A.s and a relatively weak one for Ph.D.s may be responsible for the decline.

. . . about a Call to Action by nurses, doctors, and other health professionals to build a movement against the corporatization of health care.
