What is the current role of faculty and staff in the quality movement on our nation's campuses? More importantly, what should it be? The time has come for a re-examination of that role in governance as higher education moves to virtual education. Legislators, trustees, and administrators are moving down their paths, following their definitions of quality. Faculty and staff must establish for themselves, through collective action, an equal role in decision-making on the campuses. Such a decision to move to the cutting edge of quality means taking a hard look at academic and union traditions and crafting a new order within the academy and the profession. TOPICS to be addressed
