Thriving in Academe

What is the current role of faculty and staff in the quality movement on our nation's campuses? More importantly, what should it be?
These are the questions that will be debated at the 1998 NEA Higher Education Conference, March 6-8, 1998, Hyatt Regency Hotel, Savannah, Georgia.
It is time to reexamine the faculty and staff role as higher education moves to virtual education. Legislators, trustees, and administrators have their definitions of quality.
Faculty and staff must establish, through collective action, an equal role in decision making. Moving to the cutting-edge of quality means taking a hard look at academic and union traditions and crafting a new order in the academy and the profession. Share your views with us.
