New NEA Report
The report, "The NEA and Contingent Academic Workers in Higher Education: NBI 2004-60 Action Plan" (pdf 217k, 46 pp) is a comprehensive plan of action developed "to secure for contingent academic workers throughout public higher education the rights, benefits and protections that full-time tenure track workers currently enjoy." The elements of the plan include recommendations for research, organizing, political advocacy, collective bargaining, leadership development and capacity building, and communications. Membership Renewal
Have you renewed your NCHE membership? In November 2007 and again in January you should have received your 2008 NCHE membership renewal invoice. If you have not yet renewed your membership you can return the invoice to Bill Ricketts, Membership Chair. You can also renew Individual membership at the NCHE RAM in Washington D.C., held Thursday night and Friday morning prior to the NEA/AFT Higher Education Conference. Individual and organizational voting credentials are only available to members who have paid their dues. Please return your NCHE membership today.
