B-50. Labor Movement Education
The National Education Association believes that the
struggles of working men and women to establish unions and the influence
of the labor movement on the growth of the United States should be an
integral part of the curriculum in our schools.
The Association urges teachers, curriculum committees,
and authors to include material that accurately presents the important
contributions to our country's history and growth that have been
provided by the unions involved in the labor movement and the individuals
who led that movement. (1988, 1996)
