E-11. Intellectual Property Rights and Access to Copyrighted Material
The National Education Association believes that education employees should own the copyright to materials they create in the course of their employment.
The Association also believes that the ownership rights of education employees who create copyrightable materials should protect the rights of education employees to make appropriate use of such materials in providing educational services to their students.
The Association further believes that education employees should have the right to display, reproduce, and distribute copyrighted materials for educational purposes. (1969, 2002)
